Dwight Palmquist, 73, of Melby, MN, passed away April 2, 2019, at Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake.
Dwight was born on August 23, 1945 in Fergus Falls, MN, the son of Lloyd and Luella (Fjellstrom) Palmquist. He was baptized and confirmed at Christina Lake Lutheran Church and graduated from Evansville High School.
He entered the United States Army on October 13, 1965 and was deployed as a medic, serving in Vietnam. Dwight was honorably discharged on October 12, 1967. After serving our country, he was employed with Ford Motor Company in St. Paul for many years. After working for Ford, Dwight retired and lived on the farm that he grew up on.
Dwight loved sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He also enjoyed the fall season, duck hunting, and visiting with the many hunters that came to Christina Lake to hunt ducks.
His survivors include his brother, Rod (Diane) Palmquist of Fairmont, MN; aunt, Viola Behling of Brooklyn Center, MN; nieces, Jodi (Mark) Schoer of Rochester, MN, Jill (Eric) Swanson of Medford, Oregon; and nephew, Troy (Karina) Palmquist of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Lyle Palmquist and Clarence Behling; and aunt, Alene Palmquist.
Memorial Service: 1:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Christina Lake Lutheran Church, rural Evansville, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment: Christina Lake Lutheran Cemetery
