Lory Anderson

Loretta "Lory" Kim (Leine) Anderson, 59, passed away on December 8, 2019 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, MN from cancer.

Lory was born in Gallup, New Mexico on June 20, 1960 to Kenrid and Phyllis (Stephenson) Leine and was the oldest of four siblings. She attended high school in Fergus Falls, MN and cosmetology school in Minneapolis, MN. Lory married Vincent Anderson in May 1982 and their son Erik Anderson was born October 7, 1982. Lory worked as a hair stylist in Minneapolis until the family moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands. There she continued her cosmetology career and was owner of her salon L.A. For Hair. Lory married Roger Borja in December 1997. They enjoyed traveling to France and other tropical destinations and entertaining friends and family who came to visit them on the island. After 31 years in St. Croix, Lory moved to Florida with her son for one year before moving back to Fergus Falls.

Lory enjoyed bass fishing, cheering for her cousin's Wissota car races with family on Friday nights, cooking caribbean style dishes and homestyle Minnesota recipes, and flower gardening, including creating hybrid hibiscus plants with her mother. She loved dancing to reggae, rap, and rock music. Her artistic talent was visible in her early drawings and paintings which carried forward into coloring and cutting hair.

Lory was preceded in death by her husband Roger. She is survived by her parents Kenrid and Phyllis Leine of Fergus Falls, MN, son Erik Anderson and wife Irmalee of Orlando, FL, brother Keith Leine of Erhard, MN, sisters Lisa (John) Field of Pelican Rapids, MN and Jessica (David) Cieniawski of Alexandria, MN, nieces Anna Hinsverk (and friend Dave Bjerke) of Fargo, ND and Abbigail (Aaron) Malmgren of Mustang, OK, nephews Orrie (Chloe) Leine and Seth Leine of Fergus Falls, MN, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, grand nieces and nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1- 3:30 P.M., Sunday January 19, 2020 at the Eagles in Fergus Falls with a second in St. Croix, USVI.
