Mary Wold, 92, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Mary Elizabeth Wold was born on July 15, 1926, the daughter of John and Inga Aune at the Aune farm in rural Underwood, MN. She was raised with 11 siblings and graduated from Underwood High School in 1944. Mary went on to attend the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology and was employed by the former Fergus Clinic and Lake Region Hospital.
On June 10, 1950, she married Julian Wold and they spent 60+ years together.
Being a mother and grandmother was her joy in life. Mary was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she quilted and was active in all ladies’ activities and functions. She was instrumental in organizing the Bethel Lutheran Church annual Veterans Service. Mary enjoyed entertaining family and friends at Pickerel Lake.
Mary is survived by the joy of her life, her son, Bob (Carolyn) of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson, Coen; grandson, Burgan (Irina) Hobbs of Washington, D.C.; sister, Bev Dennen of Sugar Mountain, North Carolina; brother, Phil (Joyce) Aune of Fergus Falls; and a special friend, Julie Nelson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; two infant children, Lisa Jo and Paul Russell; brothers, Lawrence, Vern, Don, and Jimmy; sisters, Kathryn Maiolini, Ruth Estes, Ione Klaessy, Gudrun Otto, and Char Rhoades.
Visitation: 5 – 7 PM Thursday, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral Service: 10 AM Friday, August 3, 2018, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
