Alice Moores

Alice Moores, 79, of Battle Lake died Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan.

Alice Mary Moores was born on December 14, 1934 in Tintah, Minnesota, the daughter of Ray and Irene (Tennu) Streeter. Alice was confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake by Pastor Harvey Pederson.

On Saturday, April 14, 1973 Alice married Leroy Moores at the Salem English Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After their marriage they purchased a farm by Big Lake. In 1979, they sold their farm and moved to Brooklyn Park. After their retirement they purchased a home on West Battle Lake, and then moved into their home in Battle Lake and in 2006, Leroy and Alice moved into Summit Village Apartments. Leroy and Alice were active with the Battle Lake Senior Citizens where they were involved with the "Card Project" for about fifteen years. They enjoyed going to "Perkins" every Saturday and for many years would travel to Oregon in the summer to visit relatives. They together were faithful members of the First Lutheran Church. Alice entered the Good Samaritan Center in September of 2010; Leroy helped her with her needs and visited daily. Due to health reasons on March 2, 2011 Leroy moved into the Good Samaritan where he died on March 13, 2011. Alice continued to live and enjoy her home at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan.

Alice is survived by sister, Betty Osborn of Wahpeton, N.D.; brother, Charles Streeter of Crystal; sister-in-law, Alice Streeter of Hibbing; nieces, nephews, relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Irene Streeter; sister, Delores Kaiser and brother, Harold Streeter.

Funeral Services: 2 PM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church

Cemetery: First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake
