Alvin Vogt

June 4, 1926 — December 15, 2011

Alvin C. Vogt, 85, of Elgin, IL passed away December 15th, 2011. His favorite place in the whole wide world was Eagle Lake, Minnesota.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 3 years during World War II. He then became a firefighter for the Elgin Fire Department for 28 years and retired as Captain.

He is survived by Lois, his best friend and loving wife of 63 years and daughter Diana (Mike) Massey. Grandchildren Cyndi (John) Downey, and Bob (Stacey) Massey, 10 Great grandchildren, 6 Great great grandchildren, sister Betty Goodwin, and brother Jake (Barb) Vogt, and many more family and friends.

Visitation: One hour prior to Mass at church

Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2011, in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls.

Interment: St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls

A memorial service shall be held in Elgin, IL at a later date.

The Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements for Alvin Vogt.
