Alvira Hanson, 85, of Richville, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at PioneerCare, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Alvira Marie (Perisian) Hanson was born to Emil V. and Lena E. (Hammes) Perisian on December 4, 1931 in Aldrich, Minnesota. She attended school in Aldrich for 6 years and in Staples for 6 years.
She lived in Oregon for 18 years before moving back to Aldrich. Alvira married Melvin L. Hanson on April 10, 1967, and moved to Richville at that time.
Alvira worked at Super Valu in Perham for 15 years and was a member of the Perham VFW Auxiliary. She was the head election judge in Richville for many years and wrote over 3000 cards for Quilts of Valor. She loved to play cards, follow her friends and family on Facebook, doing puzzles, and an occasional casino trip. Her true caring nature was shown through sorting box tops, soup labels and adding receipts for schools in Fergus Falls, a task she thoroughly enjoyed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin on March 1, 2012; parents, Emil and Lena; and brother, Leo Perisian.
Survivors include her children, Marion K. Nelson of Minnetonka, Everett A. (Margaret) Manning of Columbia, SC, William E. (Amy) Marshall of Andover, Elizabeth A. Marshall of Eagan and Cindy L. (Duane) Bartsch of Fergus Falls, Sheila K. (Bradley) White of Prior Lake and Tami S. (Sean) Toohey of Singapore; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends
Funeral Services: 11 AM, Saturday, September 9, 2017, United Methodist Church, Richville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
