Arlene Lundquist

December 12, 1939 — April 19, 2017

Arlene Lundquist, 77 of Battle Lake died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Arlene Blanche Lundquist was born to Edwin and Altine (Glende) Lundquist on December 21, 1939, in Everts Township. She was baptized at the Skibtvedt Lutheran Church north of Battle Lake and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. She attended country school at District #45 on the southeast corner of the home farm and graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1957.

Arlene worked at the Fergus Falls Clinic, was a dental assistant for Dr. Britt, and also worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Danielson at the Fergus Falls State Hospital. In the late 1970's, she returned home to help her brothers with the dairy farm and worked as a nurse's aide at the Ottertail Nursing Home. Moving back home, she also cared for her folks which allowed them to live at home well into old age. After retirement, Arlene lived on the home farm for a number of years, eventually moving to Alcott Manor in Fergus Falls and then to the Good Samaritan Home in Battle Lake where she resided until she was called.

Arlene will be fondly remembered as a very caring and kind person, interested in the lives of those around her, and always willing to help. She adored all the animals on the farm and enjoyed caring for them. She loved the outdoors, particularly gardening and going for walks with her dogs, Tony and Sam.

Arlene is survived by her brother Eugene, sister-in-law's Mary and Harriet, special niece Michelle (Mark) Lachowitzer, nephews Allen (Debra), Jon (Julie), Jeff (Stacy), Brian (Cheri), and Ron (Leah) Lundquist and many great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Altine Lundquist; brothers Roger Lundquist and Bud Lundquist; and sister-in-law Irene Lundquist.
