Arthur Nulph

March 31, 1937 — January 26, 2016

Arthur S. Nulph Jr., 78, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Lake Region Healthcare, surrounded by his family.

Art was born on March 3, 1937 on a farm near Wyndmere, ND. He attended country school and then joined the Air Force in 1955. He was deployed to Saudi Arabia, where he served as an ammunition truck driver until 1959.

On February 28, 1964, Art married the love of his life, Lois Schulz Wolfswinkel, in Milbank, SD. In his nearly 52 years of marriage, he raised five children: Brenda, Jeffrey, Tammy, Margie and Lois. He worked as a farm hand and then worked at Lake Region Hospital as a maintenance engineer for 30 years, where he retired at age 60.

Art had a zest for life and enjoyed taking the family camping, bowling, playing cards, gardening, spoiling his dogs, and "shooting bull" at the coffee house. Some of his happiest moments were with a gun in his hand shooting deer, grouse and bear with his buddies, reading his bible, and he especially loved time spent with his 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

During the last six months of his life, he enjoyed numerous new activities with Lois while living at the Veteran's Home in Fergus Falls.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Arthur Sr. and Alice (Stavaas) Nulph; four siblings; and his son, Jeffry Wolfswinkel, who died in 2014.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, of Fergus Falls, MN; children, Brenda (Tim) Baumer of East Grand Forks, MN, Tammy Bye of Jacksonville, FL, Margie Jackson of Fargo, ND, and Lois (Dean) Anderson of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Trevor (Kristie) Baumer, Trent (Amy) Baumer, Cassandra Baumer, Charles Baumer, Trisha Wolfswinkel, Amy Wolfswinkel, Kylanda (Jordan) Wick, Katelyn Nelson, Kaysha Wolfswinkel, Travis Bye, Adam Bye, Trissica (Rob) Rodgers, Cody Nulph, Kyle Schroeder, Casey Schroeder, Logan Jackson, Caleb Anderson, and Nicole Anderson; and eight amazing great-grandchildren.
