Audrey S. Ellingson, 98 of Battle Lake died Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Battle Lake, Minnesota.
Audrey was born March 3, 1924, in McIntosh, Minnesota to Rudolph and Gena (Bakken) Olson, the oldest of five girls and one boy. She grew up and attended school in Casselton, N.D., McIntosh and Moorhead, MN.
On December 19, 1942, she married Ollie Ellingson in Casselton. They lived in Thief River Falls for twenty-three years and raised three children, Margaret, James and David. When their children were grown, they moved to Minneapolis for nineteen years. After retiring they moved to Delano, Alexandria and Henning. Upon her husband’s death, Audrey moved to Battle Lake.
Audrey is remembered for enjoying a simple life: she was a wonderful seamstress; enjoyed her family, flowers, fishing and reading a good book.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie in 2005; her sisters, Muriel Doty, Barb Janisch, Jean Henderson and Marjory Preave; and brother, Richard Olson.
She is survived by her children, Margaret (Alan) Harder of Battle Lake, James (Joan) Ellingson of Onamia and David (LouAnn) Ellingson of Battle Lake; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Nursing Home for the care and compassion shown to Audrey.
Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in McIntosh
