Barbara Peterson

January 28, 1934 — August 9, 2010

Barbara Lois Peterson was born on January 28, 1934 in Valley City, North Dakota the daughter of Mandius “Pete” and Gladys (Altenberg) Peterson.    She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended the Battle Lake Public School.




Barbara lived with her parents and did volunteer work at the Gearhart Nursing Home in Battle Lake. She helped many elderly people, assisting with house cleaning, shopping for groceries, cooking and also would do ladies hair. Barbara lived in Battle Lake until moving to Fergus Falls where she was employed with Productive Alternatives. She enjoyed embroidery and quilt making and would sell pillow cases and pot holders. Barb loved walking, riding bike and bowling, belonging to a bowling league in Fergus Falls she spent many hours visiting with people at the Northern Aire Bowling Lanes. Family was important to her; she loved family gatherings, especially enjoying the children.   Barb also enjoyed animals and doing word searches.




She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Gladys Peterson; one sister, Delphine Johnson; two brothers, Marshall and Delmar Peterson; one niece, Anna Peterson and one nephew, Darrell Peterson.
