Benora Jonason

Benora Jonason, 81, of Fergus Falls died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Lifesong Group Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born March 6, 1934 in Sverdrup Township of Otter Tail County to Bernhard and Isabella (Haugen) Twedt. She grew up in rural Underwood and attended school at District 231. She graduated from Underwood High School in 1953. Benora then attended Bethany Fellowship in the Twin Cities for approximately one year. She then moved back home with her mother and worked as a nurse's aide at the Broen Home. She was united in marriage to Norbert Jonason on November 26, 1965 at Vang Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on Norbert's farm in rural Battle Lake. They remained there until Norbert passed away on April 17, 1994. Benora then moved to Fergus Falls where she resided at the River Bend Apartments until moving to Lifesong Group Home.
Benora enjoyed scrap booking for family events, photography, spending time with her children and visiting friends and relatives. She was active with church activities and was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her children: Darlene Stanton (Lynette Weber) of Fargo, Norren (Jill) Jonason of Camas, WA, Helise (Roy) Madden of New Orleans, LA and Nyle (Rachel) Jonason of Barnesville; a sister, Bernell Bachmeier of Grand Forks, ND; nine grandchildren: Anna Madden, Jamie Jonason, Jordan Jonason, Samuel Jonason, Abigail Jonason, Naomi Jonason, Susanna Jonason, Nathan Jonason and Grace Jonason and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother-in-law, Thomas Bachmeier.
