Bette Schleske, 77, of Erhard died Friday, January 6, 2012 at Sanford Health Care in Fargo, ND.
Elizabeth Ann Schleske was born December 26, 1934, in St. Paul to Ray and Ruth (Sprung) Sorensen. She grew up in Tracy, Minnesota and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1952. She continued her education at Moorhead State University where she received her Teaching Degree in English.
On July 11, 1955, she married Lyle Schleske in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Moorhead, Minnesota and in 1958 moved to Tucson, Arizona. In 1970 they moved to their present home at rural Erhard. Bette worked as a bookkeeper at a medical clinic for Dr. Fuller and Dr. Maxfield in Arizona, at Marty's Supper Club in Pelican Rapids and then was a secretary for Victory Industries in Pelican Rapids.
Bette was a people person. She was an avid reader and loved a good debate. She enjoyed traveling and spoiling her grandchildren. She was also very active in church and enjoyed Bible Study and participating in all church functions.
In keeping with Bette's loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so that others may live.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle of Erhard; daughters, Cindy (Ken) Lyden of Pelican Rapids, Nancy (Alan) Jerger of Rothsay and Lorri (Brad) Schmitt of Larimore, ND and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ruth Sorensen.
Visitation: Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard and will resume one hour prior to the service.
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard
