Betty A. Anderson, 76, of Evansville, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Evansville Care Center.
Betty Ann (Thalmann) Anderson was born on June 10, 1936 to Otto and Frieda (Schurmann) Thalmann in Madison, Wisconsin. Betty and her family lived in Paoli, WI, where her dad was a cheese maker and Betty attended elementary school.
In 1948, they moved to Verona, WI, where Betty attended middle and high school. She graduated in 1954. After high school, Betty worked for Hardware Mutual Insurance Company out of Madison, until she was transferred to Minneapolis, MN.
While working in Minneapolis, Betty met Robert Anderson, and in 1959, Bob and Betty were married. They had three children.
Betty worked as a secretary for their business, "Anderson Electric" for the next 40+ years. Betty was a devoted wife and the greatest Mom to her children that anyone could ever ask for. Her grandchildren became her pride and joy, and she loved spending time with them.
Betty was a member of Calvary Covenant Church and was very active there. She was also involved in many community functions. Betty loved to entertain for her friends and family. Bob and Betty spent many years traveling to California, Arizona, Hawaii and her most loved trips to Switzerland.
Betty is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Carol (Dean) Sayre of Forest Lake, MN and Joan (Gene) Barsness of Brandon, MN; a son, David (Tanya) Anderson of Lake Elmo, MN; seven grandchildren: Tyler (Kellie) Anderson of Evansville, Tony Ohren, Chris Ohren and Matt Ohren, all of Ashby, MN; Tom Ohren of Jordan, MN; Alexis Anderson and Brandon Anderson of Lake Elmo, MN; two step-grandchildren: Jeremy Sayre and Jacquelyn Sayre, both of Evansville; four great-grandchildren: Carson, Jaiden and Nolan Anderson of Evansville and Averie Ohren of Fergus Falls; one step-great-grandchild: Wyatt Webb of Evansville; two step-sisters: Irene Moore of Houston, TX and Donna Matson of Eagan, MN.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Frieda Thalmann; a brother, Ralph Thalmann; infant baby Anderson; a son-in-law, Wade Anderson; sister-in-law, Nora Thalmann; and "special parents" Herb and Ruth Zurbuchen.
Visitation: 5 - 7 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville, and one hour prior to services at church.
Funeral Service: 11 AM Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Calvary Covenant Church, Evansville.

Interment: Mound Grove Cemetery, Evansville
