Beverly Avant, 77 of rural Battle Lake died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Beverly Ann Avant was born on September 25, 1938, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Edgar and Lucille (Winens) Nagel. She attended the Fergus Falls Public School.
Beverly and Larry Avant were married on July 18, 1957. After their marriage they lived in Fergus Falls, Minneapolis and then moved to their home by Battle Lake. Beverly dedicated her life to raising her children and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going for coffee and visiting, sewing, puzzles and appreciated the love shown by the community. Her family deeply thanks them so much for their exemplary service, especially Shoreline, Larry's, Battle Lake Standard and Ben's Bait.
She is survived by three children, Lyle Avant, Tom (Winnie) Avant and Brenda (Todd) Avant-Biederman; ten grandchildren, Anne, Isabelle, Sally, Ross and Jesse Avant, Ashley Lohrman, Chris, Cassie, T.J. and Tommy Biederman; three great-grandchildren, Zoe Lohrman, Jase Johnson and Dustin Wentler; three siblings, Eugene (Arlene) Nagel, Darlene Pippke and James "Tiny" Nagel; and by numerous relatives and friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Avant; daughter, Cindy Avant; son, Jeffrey Avant; parents, Edgar and Lucille Nagel; and by four brothers, Jerry Nagel, Louie Nagel, Little Larry Nagel and Roger Allen Nagel.
Memorial Service: 11 AM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Stavanger Lutheran Church, 27113 Stavanger Church Road, Fergus Falls, MN. 56537.
