Bridget Boik, 72, after a long illness passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on November 27, 2021.

Bridget Ann Boik, daughter of Vernal and Patricia (Billy Hines) Willmert, was born on August 5, 1949 in Fairmont, Minnesota. Bridget graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, then furthered her education to become a registered nurse. Her nursing career totaled nearly 45 years, focusing on pediatrics, pediatric intensive care, and pediatric flight nursing. Her career ended in a supervisory role at Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton, Minnesota. Her work brought her many memorable experiences and many life-long friendships.

She is survived by her husband Tom; four children, Nathan (Melissa) Manning of Sartell, Minnesota, Sarah Manning of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Manning of Bloomington, Minnesota, and John (Michelle) Vipond of Bloomington, Minnesota; two step-children, Jeramy Boik of Hawaii and Mellisa Boik of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Nick, Kate, and Taryn Manning, Austin Hellevang, and Jack and Ethan Vipond; cousin/god-mother Lois Didriksen; cousin Roger Franke; brother-in-law Del Farley; niece, Meghan (Farley) Faundeen; aunt Evelyn Willmert; and dear friend, Sharon Vipond of Battle Lake.

Bridget was preceded in death by her parents Vernal and Patricia Willmert; sister Mary Jane Farley; ex-husband, Ed Manning; and special friend Bob Vipond.

On June 5, 2022, there will be a small ceremony at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery at  which you are welcome to attend, followed by a

Memorial and Life Celebration, starting at 1:00 PM, at the Boik Home at 507 West Langen St. in Battle Lake.  There will be food and refreshments and lots of space to spread out and reminisce.  In case of rain, the afternoon event will take place at the Battle Lake Senior Center.  Arrangements with Glende-Nilson Funeral Home.
