Bruce Runningen

Bruce Runningen, 59 of rural Clitherall died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Sanford Health in Fargo.

Bruce Lee Runningen was born on February 5, 1954 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the son of Darel and Beverly (Rindahl) Runningen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Grue Lutheran Church, attended Country School in Clitherall Township and graduated from the Battle Lake High School in 1972.

Bruce and Dianne Kaye Baardsen were married on October 13, 1979 in the Vining Lutheran Church and after their marriage they lived on their farm in Nidaros Township. He drove truck for the Urbank Creamery, dairy farmed for a few years and then began driving truck for the Millerville Creamery where he worked until he retired. Bruce enjoyed music, model trains and computers. He was very musical, playing twenty plus years with the Music Makers as a drummer and singer. Bruce had a recording studio in his basement of his house and still played for enjoyment. He loved helping his Dad on the farm, working in the field and repairing. He was good at figuring out things. Bruce built and wired his home. He enjoyed good conversation and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne; two children, Cory Runningen of Parkers Prairie and Heidi Runningen of Alexandria; one grandson, Johnathan Runningen; parents, Darel and Beverly Runningen of Battle Lake; three sisters, Denise (Art) Norberg of Battle Lake, Debra (David) Schiele of Underwood and DiAnn (Jim) Quinn of Green Bay, Wisc.; one brother, Lee (Linda) Runningen of Mesa, Az.; and numerous relatives and friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford and Eunice Runningen and Melvin and Amy Rindahl.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Nidaros Lutheran Church of rural Clitherall

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church.
