Charles Erickson, 77, of Battle Lake formerly of New Brighton, died February 24, 2017, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Charles Arthur Erickson was born on June 6, 1939, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota the son of Arthur and Evelyn (Peterson) Erickson.  He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.  Chuck graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1957, and furthered his education for two years at Wahpeton Science School, graduating as a Civil Engineer Technician.  He joined the Minnesota Army Reserves in Minneapolis, serving six-months active duty, then continued on with his reserve until his discharge.

Chuck and Patricia Harthen were married on November 10, 1962, in the Federated Church in Fergus Falls.  After their marriage, they lived in New Brighton where Chuck was longtime employee of Bonestroo Rosene & Anderlik, a civil engineering firm in St. Paul.  Chuck was known for his wry sense of humor, strong work ethic and mentorship of many employees.  Many amazing memories of swimming, fishing and family time were formed at the Battle Lake cabin, and continued after Chuck and Pat retired to West Battle Lake in 2001.  He enjoyed the lake and his pontoon.
