Charles E. Snook, 74, of Evansville, MN, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at his residence, under the care of Hospice of Douglas County.
Charles Edward was born on September 22, 1941, in Parkers Prairie, MN, the son of Harry and Ida Mae (Huntington) Snook where he was 1 of 12 children. He attended Henning Public School. After high school, Charles moved to southern, MN where he worked on a farm.
On December 24, 1959, he married Deanna Faye Smedsrude and the couple had a son, Craig. Charles worked at Pepsi Company, Sold Insurance and owned and operated a riding stable in Park Rapids.
In 1978, Charles married Robin Bechenbauch in Coon Rapids, MN and the two had a son, Curtis. The couple move to Montana, where another child, a girl, Lacy was born. Charles drove many trucks in his life including a logging truck a water truck that fought fires in Montana. He also helicopter logged while in Montana. He later owned and operated his own trucking company which he ran with his son, Craig.
Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had a deep passion for horses. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his MN Twins in which he had the pleasure of taking in a few games at the new stadium. He was known for being a hard worker a great provider to his family and always said he felt fantastic even if he really didn't.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ida; wife's, Deanna Buchert and Robin Bechenbauch; two grandsons, Jered Hyatt Snook and Pierce Beach; a brother, Wilbur Snook and five sisters, Wilma, Thelma, Harriett, Seretha and Suzie.
He is survived by his three children, Craig (Nancy) Snook of Evansville, Curtis (Libby) Snook of Kalispell, MT and Lacy Snook of Coram, MT; five siblings, Ethel (Dave) Sherry, Marcie Beatty, Martin Snook, Donna Brown and Walter Snook; six grandchildren, Kylie Snook, Chase Snook, Erika Scott, Bryan (Katera) Snook, Harold Snook and Samantha Snook; a great grandchild, Brayden Snook along with numerous family and friends.
Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Evansville, with a memorial gathering one hour prior to the service.
