Daniel J. Anderson, 51 of rural Evansville died Saturday, May 23, 2015, at his home.
Daniel Jay Anderson was born on October 2, 1963, in Alexandria, Minnesota the son of Lloyd and Donna (Karger) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christina Lake Lutheran Church and graduated from the Evansville High School in 1982. He then continued his education at the Willmar Technical College studying Agri-Business.
Daniel and Antoinette Merritt were married on October 24, 1992, in the Christina Lake Lutheran Church. After their marriage they lived in Evansville until 1996, when they built their present home on the Anderson farm site. Dan was a foreman, for cable burying construction, with Underground Contracting before starting D.J. Anderson Trucking which he operated from 1992 to 2000. He then owned an independent food service, catering weddings and operated his own food wagon. He was known for his ribs, in Alexandria he entered "Awake The Lakes Rib Fest" winning the first year. Dan enjoyed cooking, stock car racing, horses, football, baseball, basketball and visiting with friends on the front porch. His family was very important, he was a good uncle and he liked to make kids happy. Dan was a lifetime member of Christina Lake Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Toni; daughter, Ashley (Ben) Johnson of Ashby; brother, Curtis (Bernadette) Anderson of Evansville; sister-in-law, Stacey (Bill) Smith of Pierre, S.D.; and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Donna Anderson; and by one brother, Russell Anderson.
