Darlene Estlick, 87 of Battle Lake died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
Darlene Adeline Estlick was born on November 18, 1924 in Perham, Minnesota the daughter of Albert D. and Eva Mae (Davis) Wickham. She was baptized as an adult at the Basswood Seventh Day Adventist Church. She attended Rural School District #256 in Dead Lake Township and continued her education at the Perham High School.
Darlene and Floyd W. Estlick were married on March 6, 1946 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They lived in the Basswood, Dent and Perham areas except for three years in Denver, Colorado. She was employed with the Ottertail Nursing Home for twenty-seven years as a Certified Nurse's Aide and also was a homemaker in the home. She enjoyed flowers, music and her kitty, Pumpkin. Darlene played piano and had served many years as the church pianist and also loved to sing.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd; two daughters, Abby (Jay) Bizzett-Johnson of Battle Lake and Loralee (Fred) Carter of Lincoln, Ne.; three sons, Marcus (Virginia) Estlick of Sandpoint, Id., Michael (Joyce) Estlick and Thomas (Jennifer) Estlick all of Richville; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Gene) Nichols of Franklin, Tn., Mavis (Dr. Marlowe) Schaffner of Redlands, Ca. and Barbara Wickham of East Highland, Ca.; one brother, Lynn (Kay) Wickham of Petaluma, Ca. Darlene was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Estlick on November 25, 1953 and one daughter, Joan Phillips on August 22, 1999.
Memorial Service: 9:00 am Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Basswood Baptist Church, rural Richville
Visitation: one hour prior to the service
Clergy: Pastor Fred Crowell
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, rural Richville
