David (Dave) Robert Andree, age 88, of Clitherall, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 19, 2023.
Dave was born on September 4, 1935, in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He graduated from South High School in 1954. As a youth Dave learned to play piano, finding relaxation in playing for many years. After high school he went on to trade school where he became a licensed electrician. He worked various jobs in construction before he began his 35-year career in elevator/escalator installation, service, and repair. His travel companion, Cinder (black lab) accompanied him on his travels for work. He retired from his long-term employer R & O Elevator in 1995.
He met his wife Rosey, of 65 years while they were both working at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. They were married on April 12, 1958. They built a house in Bloomington, Minnesota where they raised their 3 children, Pam, Kim & David. They spent 30 years in that house. They also had property on Spitzer Lake in Clitherall, MN where they had their cabin for several years before building and moving into their current retirement home in August of 1996.
Dave always had a fascination with cars. He raced for Downtown Chevy in his early years and later turned his love for cars into fixing and rebuilding several vehicles along the way. Of his pride and joys was a 1968 Shelby Cobra Fastback that he had for many years. His latest project was a 1956 Ford F150 that he rebuilt. Dave also was a longtime softball player, playing in several tournaments, enjoying playing broomball in the winter. He played softball well into his 50’s in the old timer league and enjoyed playing in many tournaments.
Dave loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. While in Bloomington Dave was also a member of a “Clown Club” that would don the makeup- and clown attire to visit and entertain children at local children’s hospitals. Dave also served locally as a road supervisor and youth baseball coach for several years. Dave was a knowledgeable collector of guns and was the one that people turned to when they needed work on their guns.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta, his children: Pam Evans (Jerry Dancisak), Kim Andree (Marty Flaherty) and David Andree wife (Brenda). He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Mandy (Justin) Harrison, Dan Evans, Katelyn, Brandon, Christopher and Gabriel Andree. He also has 2 great grandkids - Brody, and Teagan.
