Dean Harlow, 62, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Midwest Home Health, in Fergus Falls. His Celebration of Life is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Basswood Baptist Church in Richville, MN, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place at Maplewood Lutheran Church Cemetery in Erhard, MN. There will be a memorial motorcycle ride starting at the church and ending at the cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
Dean Arthur Harlow was born May 20, 1962, as a triplet (Dwight & Denyce) to Robert and Beverly (Lahren) Harlow in Fergus Falls. He attended Fergus Falls Public School, graduating in 1981.
He started working at a young age at the Lahren Brothers farm and as a cook at Mabel Murphy’s. He also worked at Carlisle Oil, hauled milk for Moricak, truck driving for Evenson’s (his favorite route was to Alaska), Pine River Paving, KOST, and for Strata as a batch manager.
Dean enjoyed riding motorcycle, travelling, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, playing cards, spending time with his family and his motorcycle family. He was very involved with Basswood Baptist Church, Veterans Home R&R, Boots on the Ground, and participated in many bike runs, including: Make-A-Wish, St. Jude’s, Ronald McDonald, Leather Up for Lupus, Silence the Stigma (Suicide Awareness), and Olie’s Ride for Hospice.
Proceeding him in death were his infant son Clayton Harlow; parents, Beverly Abbott & Robert Harlow; stepfather, Clayton Abbott; brother Dwight Harlow; infant sister, Linda; grandson, Mason; stepbrother, Rodney Abbott; stepsister, Julie Bye; nephews, Darrin Harlow & Malachi Harlow
Survivors include his brothers, Lynn (Wendy) Harlow and David (Deb) Harlow; sister, Denyce Torma; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Jamie) McWethy, Lora (Ben) Marfell, Marie (Eric) Toso, Zach (Angela) Harlow, Celeste Harlow, Jesse (Nallely) Harlow, Julia (Brett) Weiss, and Dakota Torma; step children, Tonya Barbeau, Sam Swenson, Bob Gomer, Nick Pritchard, Tabitha Pritchard, Zach Baker, Kayla Baker, David (Rylee Pazdernik) Wahl, Ava (Kyle Laurent) Wahl; grandchildren, Leighton, Hallie, Landon, Lylla, Autumn, Piper, Brynn, Marshaun, Bella, Cora, Caroline, and Andrew; step mom, Grace Harlow; step siblings, Sandy (Duwayne) Bauman, Cindy Abbott, Lori (Mark) Jensen, Tammy (Wayne) Carlson, Terry (Mila) Abbott; uncles, Kent (Jan) Lahren, Wayne Burkhart; aunt, Mitsuko Lahren; his motorcycle family, and many other friends and family.
Dean's family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Basswood Baptist Church, Veteran's Home R&R, Boots on the Ground, Make-a-Wish, or St. Jude's.
