Dean Allen Ladwig

Dean Ladwig, a passionate outdoorsman, passed away on December 1, 2024 at the age of 62 at the Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota. 

Dean Allen Ladwig was born August 16, 1962, at the Elbow Lake hospital. Dean was the son of Carl and Marie (Bartness) Ladwig. He was raised on the family farm north of Elbow Lake.

Dean was baptized October 8, 1962. He was confirmed into the Lutheran faith by Pastor George Gilbertson in 1978. He graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1981 and then went on to earn a degree from the Pipestone Technical College.

Dean had a deep love of hunting and fishing, spending countless hours in the woods or on the lake fishing. Dean also had a passion for guns and reloading shells.

Remaining to cherish Dean’s memory are his sister Carolyn Rear of Benson, his brother Charles (Karen) Ladwig of Elbow Lake, his sister De-Lores (Thomas) Foss of Elbow Lake and the following nephews and nieces: Laura Rear, Janelle Notbohm, Linette Dahl, Teresa Tweeton, Delcy Fontaine, Andrew Ladwig, Marie Foss, Sonja Foss and Paul Foss. Dean was also Great Uncle to Ian Ladwig, Jace Notbohm, Natalie Notbohm, Brynn Notbohm, Paige Shearer, Isaac Toepperwein, and Arthur Toepperwein.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law John Rear, his nephew Daniel Ladwig, and his grandnephew Christopher Ladwig.
