Delores Hanson

Delores M. Hanson, age 80, of Milaca, formerly of Fergus Falls, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2011.
Delores Mae Hanson was born June 18, 1931 to Olaf and Olga (Bakken) Elshaug in Underwood. Upon graduating from Underwood High School she moved to Fargo, ND and worked at Manchesters.
She met her future husband at a dance and on August 5, 1950 she married Allan M. Hanson in Sisseton, SD. In 1953 they moved to Underwood where they bought and farmed on her parent's farm. She worked hard on the farm including milking cows. Her favorite cow was the Jersey.
Delores enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Vikings. We believe she was their #1 fan. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
February 19, 2009 she moved to Milaca, where she lived with her daughter Christine and their family.
Delores is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Bob) Hauschildt, Lake Norden, SD, Christine (Dennis) Jenson, Milaca, MN; grandchildren, Steven, Roy (Sami), Terry (Sammi), Dwayne (Tessa), Sheila, Jeremy (Caiti), Andrea and Shanna; great grandchildren, Preston, Autumn, Julian and one on the way; sisters, Beverly (John) Johnson of Fergus Falls and Carol Mokler of Mayflower, AR; brother Donald Elshaug of Fergus Falls; sisters-in-law, Sandy, Vi, Betty and Arlene; and several nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband Allan, her parents, Olaf and Olga Elshaug, her brother Gene and an infant sister.

Funeral Services: 10 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
Visitation: 4-6 PM, Friday, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls - and one hour prior to the service.
