DeLores Lysfjord

DeLores (Dee) Lysfjord, 69, of Evansville died Friday, August 27 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Her being at home was made possible by the loving care of hospice.




She was born on October 10, 1940 in Drayton, ND to Albert and Myrtle (Anderson) Johnson. She grew up and attended school at Lake Bronson, MN. She married Rodger Lysfjord in 1956. To this union, three children were born. They moved along the west coast as Rodger was in the U.S. Navy. Dee settled in the Brandon area in 1968. She moved to Evansville in 1977. Dee worked at various jobs, but she especially enjoyed working at the Crestview Manor nursing home in Evansville.




Dee enjoyed cooking and canning for her family, gardening, fishing and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed playing all kinds of games and was extremely competitive and silly. She was well known for her potato salad, lefse and canned tomatoes. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.




She is survived by her children: Curt (Jennifer) Lysfjord of Garfield, MN, Scott (Deb) Lysfjord of Alexandria, MN and Luanne Peterson of Brandon, MN; grandchildren: Angela and David Lysfjord, Tim and Tony Lysfjord, Brittany, Stephanie and Kristin Peterson and great-granddaughter, Skylar Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rodger, son-in-law, Jim Peterson and grandson, baby boy Lysfjord.




Visitation: Monday, August 30 from 5 to 7 PM at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville and resuming for one hour prior to the service at the church.




Service: Tuesday, August 31 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon




Clergy: Rev. Dennis Preston




Burial: Wednesday, September. 1 in Eidsvold Cemetery in Halma, MN at 2:00 PM
