Delphine Neuman

Delphine Neuman, 74 of rural Battle Lake died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Delphine Louise Neuman was born on June 1, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Charles and Louise (Fering) Spencer. She was baptized in the Eastminster Presbyterian Church and graduated from the North East High School in 1959, both in Kansas City. Delphine then attended one year at the Kansas City Junior College.

Delphine and Donald Neuman were married on November 24, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri. After their marriage they began living on their farm in St. Olaf Township, rural Battle Lake. Delphine had worked summers at Norway Beach Resort on Stalker Lake. After their marriage she was a homemaker, Don and Delphine operated their bee business and farmed. Delphine was a cook at the Battle Lake Public School. She was a member of the Trefoldighed Lutheran Church, she enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, her family, and especially enjoyed playing with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Don; three sons, Scott Neuman of Elbow Lake, Micheal C. (Debra) Neuman of Hillsboro, Oregon and David (Mary) Neuman of Windsor, Missouri; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, David (Cathy) Spencer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Billie Spencer of Pecular, Missouri; and by numerous relatives and friends. Delphine was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Spencer and by one brother, Tom Spencer.

Services will be held at a later date.

Interment: Trefoldighed Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Battle Lake.
