Dennis Leroy Kubitz, 53, of Erhard died Sunday, July 1, 2012.
He was born December 20, 1958 in Detroit Lakes, MN to William and Marge Kubitz. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School and was always proud of the fact he lettered in wrestling. Dennis, also known as "Animal" to many, walked a true independent trail in his life. He had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. He had a true love for worn, used, dated and interesting vehicles. He boasted about his first haircut in twenty years at his high school reunion. He loved to garden and read, enjoyed the kids that were in the Rocky's Bait family, and lived a life of simple needs and would lend a hand to any and all people he could. He lived in various places including Calloway, Erhard, Elizabeth, Barnesville and Pelican Rapids. The remainder of his years he lived off and on at Rocky's Bait. He left this world doing the thing he loved best, driving tractor. He will be missed by all.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Marge Peterson Kubitz of Fergus Falls, his father, William Kubitz of Pelican Rapids; brothers and sisters: Daryl (Connie) Kubitz of Hawley, Mike Kubitz of Pelican Rapids, Kathy (Bruce) Drechsel of Fergus Falls, Patrick Kubitz of Phoenix, AZ, Missy Kubitz of Mobile, AL and Karen (Chuck) Sherzi of Andover, MA; his godfather, Richard Peterson; 12 nieces and nephews; 5 grand nieces and nephews and extended family, Rocky and Kathy Norgren and children, their grandchildren, Devin, Kalli, Brooklyn, Mason, Cadynce, Jullian, Reid, Brock and Elisse.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents; Edwin and Linnie (Stevens) Peterson, William Sr. and Yolanda (Kenyon) Kubitz, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: 5 – 7 PM Friday, July 6, 2012, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 2 PM Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Interment: Maplewood Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erhard
