Dora Bolton, 82, of Elbow Lake died Friday, July 2, 2010, at the Stevens Home Plus of rural Barrett.





Dora Agnes Bolton was born on August 18, 1927 in Kandiyohi , Minnesota the daughter of Henry and Emma (Bennebose) Kuhlman, She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Her mother died when Dora was four years old and during her teen years her father remarried and she had a step-mother, Helena Kuhlman. Dora moved with her family at age four to Pequot Lakes and attended the Pillager Public School through the eighth grade.





Dora and John D. Bolton were married on March 9, 1956 in Minneapolis , Minnesota . After their marriage they lived in Minneapolis and Brainerd , Minnesota , then in California , Idaho and Montana before returning to Minnesota where they resided for the last 40 years in the Evansville-Elbow Lake areas. She and John owned a restaurant in Blue Earth, Minnesota . Dora had also been a head cook with the Hoffman Public School , had waitressed at various restaurants throughout the western states and worked many years. She retired from Fingerhut in Alexandria . Dora lived a short time in the Rolling Hills Assisted Living in Barrett before moving to the Stevens Home Plus of rural Barrett. She enjoyed reading, visiting and especially enjoyed her family.





She is survived by her sons, Frank and John Bolton, both of St. Paul, MN; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Rocna of Cochise, AZ, Doreen (Harold) Hanson of Evansville and Anne (Rick) Fjeld of Waverly, MN; grandchildren, Joshua Hanson, Benjamin Bolton, John Bolton III, James Bolton, Matthew Hanson, Justin Fjeld, JoDeana Poucher, Shannon Sills, Tracy Coleman, Jessica Brunsvold and Julie Fjeld; eight great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Courtney Hulin, Angelina and Bradley Bolton, Hayden Watson, Samantha Bolton, Summer Murphy and JoMarie Hanson; two step-brothers, Russel and Rolland Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; sisters, Gladys VanVickle, Mabel Gobel and Dorothy Schumaker and a step-brother, Donald Richards.
