Dwight Hanson, 91, of Fergus Falls, MN died on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 in his home at the Woodland Lodge in Fergus Falls.
Dwight was born March 20th, 1923, in Friberg Township, the son of Harry and Alma (Soderberg) Hanson. He graduated from Underwood High School in 1943, and served in the U.S. Navy. On June 2, 1951 he married Joyce May Hagen at her parent's home in rural Underwood, MN. Dwight and Joyce farmed for 19 years until August 1970 when he was injured in a farm accident. He was a member of Maine Presbyterian Church his entire life. He loved working outdoors, hunting, and playing his harmonica.
Dwight is survived by his wife Joyce of Fergus Falls, children; June (Hal) Wentzel of Moorhead, Arlette (Steve) Iverson of Jamestown, ND, Forrest (Rachelle) Hanson of Underwood, Robyn (Tony) Wolbersen of Sauk Rapids, Robert (Krissy) Hanson of Underwood; grandchildren, Shane (Wendy) Wentzel, Christopher (Claire Spydell) Wentzel, Heather (Jack) Steen, Lindsey Jensen, Carlee (Lee) Schnase, Nikki Iverson, Justin Hanson, Jenna (Christopher) Turgerson, Tanner Wolbersen, Taylor Wolbersen, Josh (Amy) Hanson; step grandchildren, Mya (Mike) Bye, Amy (Josh) Hanson, Dylan Foertsch; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Alma; two brothers, Clinton and Arden Hanson and his sister, Harriet Braud.
