Dwight Maack

Dwight Maack, 69, of rural Pelican Rapids, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his residence.


He was born August 30, 1946 in Fergus Falls to Lyle and Ethel (Seelye) Maack. He grew up and received his education in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School. He then attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for two years. Dwight was employed by National Bushing in Fergus Falls. In 1971, he began working with the City of Fergus Falls. He remained there until his retirement 25 years later in 1996. On February 4, 1995, he was united in marriage to Marlene Baasch.

Dwight enjoyed fishing and his "fur-kids." He had the opportunity to take flying lessons and enjoyed flying. He always had a project to work on whether it was a car, the house or wiring trailers. Dwight brought his famous baked beans to every function.

Dwight is survived by his mother, Ethel Maack of Fergus Falls; his spouse, Marlene Maack; his sons, Kyle Maack of Dwight, ND and Chris Schoon of Minneapolis; two sisters, Shelly (Ryan) Switters of Bertha and Sharon (Greg) Eide of Fargo; a brother, Michael (Dawn) Maack of Frenchtown, MT and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Susan Dohrer.
