Eugene Bernard "E.B." Floersch Jr., 73, of rural Battle Lake died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in his home.
Eugene Bernard "E.B." Floersch Jr. was born January 8, 1941 in Council Bluffs, IA. The son of Dr. E.B. Sr. and Wyliette (Heald) Floersch. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, IA in 1959. After high school he studied electronics at Radio Electronics Institute in Omaha, NE. Then he went on to work for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1963 and served til 1969, with an honorable discharge.
He married Denise Ann "Denny" Kennedy on February 12, 1966 in Omaha, NE. They lived in Council Bluffs, IA and he worked as an independent agent for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance and several other companies.
In 1980 he fulfilled a life long dream by purchasing Woodland Beach Resort and Campground on Otter Tail Lake, MN. They owned and operated the resort until 2005, then selling it as an Association thereby guaranteeing 44 families the opportunity to continue to vacation on Otter Tail Lake.
For 12 years E.B. and Denny enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Texas in the winter months.
E.B. was an avid outdoors-man and loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the American Legion in Iowa, the Knights of Columbus in Parkers Prairie, the NRA and Ducks Unlimited Chapter of Battle Lake, MN.
E.B. passed away Tuesday, April 1st at his home under the care of Lakeland Hospice of Fergus Falls, MN and surrounded by family.

E.B. was preceded in death by his parents Dr. E.B. Sr. and Wyliette Floersch, his sisters Mary Gene Barry and Joannelle Jeltama and their husbands.
Survived by his wife Denny of 48 years, son E.B. III (Kristi), daughter Leigh Ann, grandchildren Alexandra LeAnn, E.B. IV, Hannah Reigh, Emma Leigh and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 am Saturday, April 5th at the St. James Catholic Church of rural Underwood
Visitation: Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm with Parish Prayers at 7 pm at the St. James Catholic Church and one hour prior to the Mass
