Elaine J. Erickson, 84, of Fergus Falls, MN, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Elaine Jewel Ringquist was born on October 25, 1930, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer and Julia (Sholberg) Ringquist. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Elaine graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1949.
Elaine and Dean Erickson were married on August 8, 1951, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She worked at JC Penney's for many years.
Elaine and Dean loved their motorcycle trips, they once rode their motorcycle to Reno, Nevada to visit their daughter Jane. Elaine enjoyed bowling in earlier years, was active in Rough Riders Snowmobile Club and would play Bingo at the VFW Friday nights. The couple enjoyed spending time driving down to the farm and stopping for a bite to eat. Dean would always say "Come on George" as his term of endearment for her.
Elaine was a member of the VFW and Eagles. She was a past president of Eagles Auxiliary which she was very proud. The grandchildren would always state, "Grandma was flying with the Eagles." She enjoyed working with her outdoor flowers. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elaine was blessed with the opportunity to meet her newest great granddaughter Lylah Sue right before her passing.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Dolan of Hebron, Kentucky and Julie (Wayne) Sydow of Battle Lake; five grandchildren and families, Chad (Debbie) Dolan, Megan and Matthew, Adam Dolan, Kelly (Lori) Sydow, Isaac and Ian, Nicholas Sydow, and Samantha (Jaden) Rhodes, Lylah Sue; two sisters, Carol Olson and Dorothy Kjer; numerous relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dean in April 2015, granddaughter, Stephanie Sydow, and two brothers, Darwin Ringquist and Jim Ringquist.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Funeral Service: 2 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
