Eleanore Brown

Eleanore Brown, 91 of Battle Lake died Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Eleanore Catherine Brown was born on October 23, 1923 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Anderson) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church. Eleanore attended Rural School District #7 in Tumuli Township by Dalton and then graduated from the Fergus Falls High School in 1942, and during her high years she worked for the City Café and Bakery. She then was employed with Northwest Orient Airlines, with the aircraft mechanic division, as "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II and later for Bell Telephone Co. both in Minneapolis.

Eleanore and LeRoy Brown were married on August 25, 1945 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Fergus Falls, Berkeley, California then returned to Minnesota living in Dalton, raising their family in Battle Lake and then Eleanore and LeRoy lived in Fergus Falls. She worked with Noyes Red Owl in Battle Lake and then the Pioneer Homes in Fergus Falls. Eleanore enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, bowling, her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Dalton Homemakers, Elkettes and is a member of First Lutheran Church of Battle Lake.

She is survived by four children, Sue (Jim) Lukken of
Battle Lake, Paulette (Roger) Dalum of Barrett, Nancy (Dennis) Kunerth of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jeff Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Lori Ann (Barry) Fabian of Scottsdale, Arizona, Cory (Jodi) Lukken of Battle Lake, Adam (Mandy) Dalum of Maple Lake, Ryan (Melissa) Dalum and Matthew Dalum both of St. Louis Park, Sephanie Brown of DelMar, California and Benjamin Kunerth of Idaho Falls, Idaho; six great-grandchildren, Zachary (Lea) Fabian, Carley and Alexis Fabian, Hunter, Leila and Nola Dalum; one great-great granddaughter Zoe Sue Fabian; and by nieces, relatives and friends. Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bertha Larson; husband, LeRoy Brown; granddaughter, Kimberly Sue Lukken; three brothers, Leonard, Chester and Lester Larson; and by two sisters, Alice Bredehoft and Bernice Grossman.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, June 20, 2015 at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake

Visitation: Friday from 5 to 7 pm with a 7 pm Prayer Service at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church

Clergy: Rev. Jake Dyrhaug

Interment: First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake
