Erwin Giljohann

Erwin Giljohann, 86, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Mequon, Wisconsin, died Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Broen Home.

Erwin Raymond Giljohann was born February 14, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Erwin and Alma (Saubert) Giljohann. He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School. Erwin earned his Bachelor's Degree from Lake Forest College. Erwin honorably served his country as a MP in the Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia.
He married Nancy Hoelz on Aug. 5, 1952, at Bay Shore Lutheran Church. Erwin lived and worked in Mequon for 61 years. He worked as a Purchasing Agent/Salesman at H.C. Miller Company. Upon retirement he worked at Mee-Kwan Golf Course.

He was active in golf at the Ozaukee Country Club. He was "The Packer Fan" and loved all sports. Erwin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved the staff and residents at Mill Street Residence.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori (Robert) Hestenes of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Shawndelle, Isaiah and Elijah Hestenes all of Fergus Falls; a great granddaughter, Devynah; a sister, Ruth of Phoenix, AZ; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy in 2010; an infant son; parents, Erwin and Alma; brother-in-law, Ken; and sister-in-law, Doris.

Erwin will be missed by his family and those who loved him.

Memorials are preferred to a place of the donor's choice.

No services are planned.
