Eugene Robison, 69 of Barrett died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Eugene Vernon Robison was born on February 6, 1943 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the son of Eugene Walter and Verna (Salvevold) Robison. He was baptized and confirmed in Bethel Lutheran Church, attended Country School and then the Ashby High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966, serving in Germany as a Radio Dispatcher.
On July 4, 1971 Eugene married Beverly Wilson in Santa Ana, California. He worked in dry wall and in 1973 moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where he dairy and grain farmed. In 1984 they moved to Ashby where he was employed with Johnson-Nelson Masonry until his retirement in 2006. Beverly passed away on March 21, 1998.
On June 3, 2000 Eugene married Kay Jenstad at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in rural Barrett. They lived by Evansville, then Ashby, until moving to their present home in Barrett. Gene was a member of the Christina Lake Lutheran Church, the Grant County Wagon Train where he had served on the board, the Lake Region Threshermens Association where he showed and was very proud of his International 504 tractor. Gene was also an active member of the Ashby American Legion, serving on the Honor Guard, had been a Commander and had just received his twenty-five year pin. He enjoyed the outdoors, agriculture, the people he worked with and his friends in the community. Gene and Kay enjoyed their family and especially their grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; ten children, Kathryn Moore of Maryville, Wash., Sandra (Mike) Lanigan of Cypress, Ca., Vicky (Clyde) Burgess of Spokane, Wash., Jenny (Bob) Bridges of St. Louis, Mo., Leo (Debbie) Wilson of Spring Hill, Tn., Phillip (Marcie) Wilson of Blackfoot, Id., Terri Frickey of Idaho Falls, Id., Jody Jenstad of Walker, Mn., Eugene (Michelle) Jenstad of Mesa, Az. and Jill (Matt) Phyle of Shakopee, Mn.; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; mother, Verna Robison of Alexandria, Mn.; sister, Kathy Hart of Garfield, Mn.; sister-in-law Beverly Robison of Colorado Springs C; nephew Chris (Susan) Robison of Vista CA; niece Reneee (Aaron) Klemm of Costa Mesa CA, and by numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Walter Robison; wife, Beverly Robison; two sons, Robert and Roger Wilson, grandson Jeremy Wilson, and one brother, Walter Robison.
Funeral Service: 2 pm Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Christina Lake Lutheran Church, rural Evansville
Visitation: Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Ashby and one hour prior to the service at the church.
