Evelyn Risbrudt

Evelyn Risbrudt, 93 of Ashby, Minnesota died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Evansville Care Campus.
Evelyn Lorraine Risbrudt was born on April 24, 1922 by Dalton, Minnesota the daughter of John and Louisa (Johnson) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended Country School by Dalton.
Evie and Ervin Risbrudt were married on March 13, 1944 in Dalton, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in the Dalton area until 1965, moved to rural Ashby and in 1968, they moved into Ashby. Evie was a homemaker, worked in the kitchen in the Pelican Lake Nursing Home and then was Grandma at the Ashby School for several years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, bingo, dancing, family gatherings and especially time with her grandchildren. Evie was a member Our Savior's-Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid of Dalton and the Ashby American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by four children, Linda (Thony) Jones of Spearfish, S.D., Kathryn (Roger) Brusegaard of Grand Forks, N.D., James (Gwyn) Risbrudt of Ashby and Jane Risbrudt of Sioux Falls, S.D.; ten grandchildren, Trevor (Charlae) Jones, Tessa Jones, Chris Brusegaard, Michelle Brusegaard, Rob (Hillary) Risbrudt, Aric Risbrudt, Cora Schlieve, Cari (Chris) Ripley, Nelan (Brianna) Sutton and Dillon Sutton; eleven great-grandchildren; and by numerous relatives and friends. Evie was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin on September 28, 1978; three sisters, Gina, Clara and Luena and by five brothers, Joe, Martin, Hank, Eddie and Willie Nelson.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Our Savior's-Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church in Dalton
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Ashby and one hour prior to the service at the church.
