Evelyn Wellbrock

Evelyn Viola Wellbrock passed away peacefully on December 7, 2021 at Pioneer Care in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Evelyn was born October 29, 1923 as one of eight children born to Otto and Mathilda Drager in Elizabeth Township. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Friberg township and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Evelyn attended school district 115 in Friberg township. Her family later moved to Fergus Falls where she attended parochial school at Trinity Lutheran Church. She graduated from Washington High School and began working in a dress shop until she met Dennis Wellbrock, whom she married on February 26, 1944 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They purchased the family farm where they continued farming and raised their five daughters: Sharon, Penny, Mardelle, Cindy, and Debra. In addition to working on the farm, Evelyn baked for the nursing homes, cleaning at the country school, and food sample displays at Service Food for many years. Evelyn and Dennis celebrated 45 years of marriage until his death in 1989.

Evelyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was dedicated to her faith. She taught Sunday School for many years, was active in Ladies Aid, and sang in the church choir.

Evelyn enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, sewing, crafting, cooking, and baking. She was also active in 4H as a 4H leader. Evelyn loved her children and grandchildren. She treasured all the special times spent with family and friends. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; parents Otto and Mathilda; twin sons Walter and Otto; daughter Penny Agar; Sons-in-law Joseph Mauer Sr., David Agar Sr., and Dennis Johnson; siblings Harry Drager, Harold Drager, Irvin Drager, Maurice Drager and Delores Muchow; and twins Duane and Luella Drager.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Mauer, Mardelle (Dale) Jacobson, Cindy Johnson, and Debra Wellbrock; 14 grandchildren, Heidi (Mark) Boll, Joe (Darlyn) Mauer, Tom Mauer, Dave Agar, Tammy (Troy) Bauer, Stacey (Tom Schmidt) Agar, Shawn Agar, Jason Johnson, Jill (Matt) Miller, Christina Johnson, Molly (Dan Hamilton) Johnson, Danielle Wellbrock, Sasha Wellbrock, and Breana Wellbrock; 17 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12PM Monday, December 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, with a visitation one hour prior.
