Fay Lenore Striffler passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 20th, 2024 with her beloved family by her side, under the direction of Moments Hospice.
Fay Lenore Striffler (Tollefsrud) was born on August 14th, 1952, to Walter and Marie (Andrews) Tollefsrud at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, MN, along with her twin brother, Floyd Leroy, and grew up in Hawley, MN. Fay moved to Fergus Falls, MN in 1978 and spent most of her life there. Fay faced many difficult challenges in her lifetime from the very beginning, but she always remembered the good times growing up – time spent with her beloved daddy, playing with her brother and sisters, and her favorite food her mom made for the holidays. Fay found the loves of her life when she had her children, Daniel (1977), Angela (1980), and Jennifer (1988). Fay always shared stories of her children growing up, which were her happiest memories. Fay was well known for her bold sense of humor, and always wanting to put a smile on people’s faces. Fay loved being outside, fishing with her children, camping, and going for walks. Fay always kept herself occupied by reading books, working on puzzles and puzzle books, and coloring pictures for her loved ones. Fay was stubborn as a mule, very strong willed, resilient and made her love for us all abundantly clear.
Fay was preceded in death by her beloved twin brother, “Little Floyd,” and her father, Walter, and mother, Marie. She leaves behind her siblings Joan Amundson (Ron) of Clifford, ND, Betty Helmick (Jay) of Harwood, ND, Lyle (Carol Larson) of Moorhead, MN, Ann Tollefsrud of Grand Forks, ND, and Linda Irish of Grandin, ND. Her son Daniel Striffler (Stacy Wagner and Stacy’s granddaughter Amelia, Fay’s grandsons Aiden and Zander), her daughter Angela (and grandchildren Laszlo, Patrick, Sacha, and Reece), and her daughter Jennifer (“favorite son-in-law,” Dominic Facio, and her grandkitties Laszlo and Cravensworth).
Special thank you to Sam Facio and Teri Skiles for their priceless love, care and professional caregiving skills shared with Jennifer, to assist with Fay’s care allowing her to remain comfortable in her home. Moments Hospice, with special thanks to Heidi, Susan and Lindsie.
Celebration of Life services will take place at a later date, and burial at the Hawley, MN cemetery.
