Florence Rudsenske

Florence Rudsenske, 100 of Battle Lake died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Perham Memorial Hospital.

Florence Mildred Rudsenske was born on October 16, 1910 in Bowman City, North Dakota the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Caroline) Rundquist. At nine years old she moved to Starbuck, Minnesota where she attended Rural School District #36.

On May 9, 1929 she married LeRoy Fibelstad in the South Blue Earth Lutheran Church by Blue Earth, Minnesota. They lived in Bricelyn, Minnesota and had two sons, Duane and Larry. They were later divorced.

On January 28, 1941 Florence married Oscar Legried. They lived on a farm by Rake, Iowa for thirty-two years. Oscar had five children, Clements, Bonne, Omer, Levine and Darrol which she raised and they had one son, Kenneth. Oscar died on July 30, 1954.

She then married Claney A�A�A½PeckA�A�A½ Christianson and in 1959 they moved to a farm by Hewitt, Minnesota where they dairy farmed and Florence cooked at The Chalet on Otter Tail Lake for seventeen years. Peck died and Florence moved to Underwood, then lived a number of years in Battle Lake before entering the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center where she was living at the time of her death.

Florence enjoyed cooking, gardening, milked cows by hand and feeding cattle and hogs. She sold Better Brush and Tupperware, which she enjoyed having these parties at various homes and being with people.

She is survived by three sons, Duane (Betty) Fibelstad of Mason City, Iowa, Larry (Arloue) Fibelstad of Miniature, Nebraska and Kenneth (Connie) Legried of Parker, Colorado; step-children, Clements Legried of Blue Earth, Omer (Vivian) Legried of Holps Summitt, Missouri, Levine Bennett of Harrison, Michigan; step son-in-law, Henry Woodwick of Rake, Iowa and step daughter-in-law, Alma Jean Legried of Buffalo Center, Iowa and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her husbands; one step-daughter, Bonne Woodwick; one step son, Darrol Legried; by two sisters, Olive Morgan and Myrtle Loe; and by two brothers, Marvin and Orville Rundquist.

Memorial Service: 1 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake
Visitation: one hour prior to the service
Clergy: Reverend Magnus Peterson
Interment: East-West Cemetery in Rake, Iowa
Funeral Home: Glende-Nilson of Battle Lake.
