Frances Carlson Iverson

Frances Carlson Iverson, 98, of Ashby, MN, passed away on December 30, 2023. A private memorial service will be held in Ashby at Glende-Nilson Chapel, on January 9, 2024. Inurnment will take place in Pelican Lakes Cemetery following the service.

Frances Lorraine was born on January 12, 1925, to Carl and Gina (Knutson) Carlson in Fergus Falls, MN.

Frances grew up in Ashby, MN, and attended and graduated from Ashby High School. Fran worked in Fergus Falls at Montgomery Ward. She married Donald Long of Fergus Falls and to them, a baby girl Donna Jean was born. Later, Frances married Vernon Carroll Iverson in July of 1948 and to them a baby girl, Valrae Ann, was born.

Shortly thereafter, Frances and Iver moved to North Dakota and then on to California, here we come!  They loved California and Laguna Beach plus living on the ocean served Fran really good where she thrived and raised Valrae Ann.  Iver (Vernon Carroll) owned two Union Oil Gas Stations, one on each side of the 101. Life was great! Later when they retired, there was a move to Los Osos and then San Diego. In 1995, Fran’s husband Iver, passed on and Fran moved back to her hometown of Ashby, MN. Fran had many friends here and enjoyed everyone’s company. Fran passed away on December 30^th, 2023, while living at the Ashby living center.

Preceding Frances in death, was her first husband, Donald Long; parents Carl and Gina Carlson; her husband Vernon Carroll Iverson; her brother Roger Carlson and wife Elna; and son-in-law, Barry Wilkerson.

 She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean Grover (David) and daughter, Valrae Ann Iverson Wilkerson; Grandchildren, Craig Grover (Ali), Carol Grover Koefod (Craig), and Jill Wilkerson Ortega (Andy); Great-grandchildren, Christian Koefod (Josey) Catherine Koefod, Aksel Grover and Anika Grover.
