Frances Otto

Frances Otto, age 68, of Fergus Falls , formerly of Storm Lake , IA died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Lake Region Hospital , Fergus Falls , MN .

Frances Maudeen Otto was born June 9, 1942 at Pisgah , IA to Lowell and Ina (Freymueller) Howard. She was baptized and confirmed in Logan Church of Christ. Frances attended and graduated from Logan Public School in 1960.

She married Marvin Dale Otto September 4, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church , Logan , IA and lived in Storm Lake , IA until 2008 when they moved to Fergus Falls . The family had spent many summers at Otter Tail Lake Campgrounds.

Fran held various jobs. She and Marvin were foster parents for 13 years. Fran was instrumental in starting Bowling Buddies Program for special needs children in the Storm Lake area. She loved camping and enjoyed playing Yahtzee and cards. Fran was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church , Storm Lake , IA and transferred to Trinity Lutheran, Fergus Falls .

She is survived by her husband, Marvin; 3 children, Christine Estep of George, IA, Timothy Otto (Sharon Perry) of Keokuk, IA, and Kathryn Otto of Storm Lake, IA; grandchildren, Sarah and Nick, Kathy Dale, John, Matthew, Tim Austin and Andee, Mariah, and Shantel; sister, Esther McVey of Council Bluffs, IA; brother, Tom Magnette of Kingsport, RI.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and Rod Magnette.
