Gordon Hanneman, age 80 of Erhard died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls .





Gordon Albert Hanneman was born on February 17, 1930, in Erhard Township of Otter Tail County MN, the son of Edwin and Katherine (Johnson) Hanneman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elizabeth . Gordon attended school District #203 and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1948. He then worked on the family farm.





On February 3, 1951, he married Ruby J. Jorgenson at Hedemarken Lutheran Church . The couple resided in Elizabeth Township 4 years. In 1952 Gordon entered the U.S. Marines. From 1954 to 1957 he worked for J.D. Nelson Trucking and from 1957 to 1990 he was an employee of Mid American Dairy of Fergus Falls. They purchased a farm and built their home in Friberg Township where they farmed from 1956 until their retirement in 1993. They then purchased land and built their current residence also in Friberg Township .





Gordon was a former member of Tonseth Lutheran Church where he had served as church board president and was currently a member of Messiah Lutheran Church , rural Underwood. He served as chairman of the Friberg Township Board for 20 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #30 and D.A.V. of Fergus Falls . He enjoyed hunting and fishing.





His family includes his wife, Ruby and one daughter, Debra and her husband Phillippe Jean-Baptiste of Virginia; 3 granddaughters, Meghan and Alexender and Paige Swenson of Minneapolis ; nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends .





Preceding him in death were his parents, Edwin and Katherine; a son Charles who died in 1994.





Funeral Services: Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church , Rural Underwood





Visitation: Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
