Gwendolyn Langlie, 80 of rural Ashby died Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at her home.

Gwendolyn Marie Langlie was born on October 6, 1936, in Alexandria, Minnesota the daughter of Milo and Gladys (Gullickson) Eggum. She attended Country School District #9 by Dalton and then graduated from the Fergus Falls High School. While going to school she worked at the Dalton Cafe and after high school she was employed with Hartzell Electronics in Minneapolis.

Gwen and Jack Langlie were married on June 29, 1972. After their marriage they lived in Dalton for a short time, and then built their present home by Ashby. She had worked for the Ashby Nursing Home, Ashby Produce, and was a homemaker taking care of her family. Gwen enjoyed both summer and ice fishing, bingo, and she had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She was a kind and generous person, the coffee was always on and she loved to feed you. Gwen was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; three sons, James (Pauline) Martinson, Troy A. (Sandra) Langlie and Bruce Langlie all of Ashby; four grandchildren, Beth (Eric) Schreifels, Deanna Martinson, Daniel (Dorie) Martinson and Justis Curtis; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Avaiyah; two sisters, Pauline (Steve) Torgrimson and Holly Matson both of Ashby; brother, Oscar Jr. (Beaty) Matson of Ashby; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Eggum of Arizona and Joani Eggum of Burnsville; two brothers-in-law, Gayle (Renee) Langlie and Roger (Joyce) Langlie both of Ashby; sister-in-law, Sandra Barry of Ashby; and by numerous relatives and friends. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Gladys Eggum and by two brothers, Truman and Marvel Eggum.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Rev. Tom Olson

Interment: Pelican Lake Cemetery in Ashby
