Harry Walvatne

Harry Burton Walvatne, 87, of Wheat Ridge, CO, formerly of Battle Lake, MN , died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his residence.
Harry moved to Colorado in 1956 after his time in the Service; however, his heart was always in Minnesota on the farm and he made many trips home to visit. He loved to fish and in Colorado enjoyed skiing, hiking and cars. His real passion was as his profession as a Barber. His career spanned almost 40 years and his customers adored him. They shared their lives with him and he was a trusted confidant. The owner of the shop states that you could not find a more honest and dependable employee. He was a man with true integrity. Harry was always there with a smile and would always be willing to lend a helping hand to others in their times of need.
He was the most selfless individual. Although he was very very ill, he would never complain and would always have an optimistic and cheery disposition. He donated to countless charities and was a man with simple wants and desires. Most of all, he loved the Lord and put his Faith first. He preached by the way he lived his life and never judged or spoke ill of anyone.
He also enjoyed listening to spiritual hymns in the evenings if he was not watching a good boxing match, football, basketball or hockey game with his brothers. Family meant the world to him and words cannot express how grateful we are for the nieces, nephews relatives and friends and their families who are in attendance
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Glende Nilson Funeral Home Chapel in Battle Lake with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Skibvedt Cemetery, rural Battle Lake, MN
