Harvey Anderson Jr., 60 of Elizabeth died Friday, September 16, 2011 at his home.
Harvey Anderson Jr. was born on May 16, 1951 in Crookston, Minnesota the son of Harvey Sr. and Jane (Nelson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Harvey attended school in Crookston and Twin Valley and after graduating from high school he attended the Wahpeton State School of Science studying in the electrical area. Harvey lived a full life, attending Woodstock and had marched with Martin Luther King Jr.
Harvey had a daughter Linda who found Dad at the age of 25 and is just like him. He and Vernice Burns were married in Twin Valley, Minnesota and had four children, Ronica, Nathan, Nolan and Harvey III "Andy". Harvey and Dorothy Kiphuth were married on December 31, 1982 in Elizabeth, Minnesota and had two children, Sarah and Jeremiah. Harvey and Dorothy lived in Elizabeth. He enjoyed computers, comic books, music, birds, flowers, old musicals and movies. Harvey had many collections. He was the family rock and defender who was there for everyone, Harvey would give the shirt off his back and then would give you the one out of his dresser drawer. He and Dorothy were active with Head Start, Harvey being a Regional Representative who was also active in his children's lives. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and son-in-law, Scott.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; seven children, Linda (Phil) Walters of Bemidji, Ronica (Tony) Joaqin of New Prague, Nathan Anderson of Rice Lake, Wisc., Nolan Anderson of Montrose, Harvey III "Andy" (Amy) Anderson of Tracy, Sarah (Scott Johnson) Anderson of Erhard and Jeremiah Anderson of Elizabeth; eighteen grandchildren, Monica, Kenny, Darius, Asa, Scoutt, Kaleb, Tristin, Alyssa, McKenzie, Jasmine, Allie, Tyrell, Quentin, Austin, Jordan, Sydnie, Jessica and Jaedon; two great-grandchildren, Coal and Wyatt; four sisters, Sandie (Harvey) Horn of Mahnomen, Tammy (Jerry) Webber of Marion, Ohio, Katie (Joe) Barrera of Elbow Lake and Karla Wilson of Elbow Lake; two brothers, Tim (Ethel) Anderson of Helena, Mt. and Michael Anderson of Flagstaff, Az. and by numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Sr. and Jane Anderson and by one sister, Rebecca Anderson.
