Ilene Dickhoff, 79 of Pelican Rapids died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Pelican Valley Health Center.

Ilene Marion Dickhoff was born on June 25, 1935 by Battle Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Oscar and Lillie (Mekalson) Langren. She was baptized and confirmed in the Grue Lutheran Church, attended Rural School Districts #34 and #6, then graduated from the Battle Lake High School in 1953. After high school she was employed with Dr. Howland Dental Clinic in Battle Lake, doing office work and assisting.

Ilene and Elroy Dickhoff were married on April 6, 1962 in Peever, South Dakota. After their marriage they lived in Effington Township by Parkers Prairie. In 1963, they moved to rural Rothsay where they lived until 1994, when they purchased their home in Pelican Rapids. Ilene was a homemaker in the home, and also did many years of daycare getting to know many families, later attending many graduations. She enjoyed reading, word search, gardening, flowers, baking, cooking for her family remembering many good holiday meals, always plenty of food. She always enjoyed family, especially time with her grandchildren. Ilene was a member of South Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School and was active with the Ladies Aid.

Ilene is survived by her husband, Elroy; four sons, Curtis of Pelican Rapids, Jeff of Elrosa, Bruce (Cali) of Sauk Centre and Brian (Rhonda) of Moorhead; three grandchildren, Jacob, Alexis and Grace; two great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Thea; sister, Carol (Warren) Boese of Battle Lake; Sister-in-law, Ginny Langren of Coon Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ziesmer and Alice (Warren) Meissner both of Alexandria; and by numerous relatives and friends. Ilene was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lillie Langren; sister, Gladys Kelm and by one brother, Lester Langren.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at South Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Rothsay.

Visitation: Monday from 4 to 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Clergy: Jerry Peterson SAM

Interment: Tuesday afternoon at 2 pm at the First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake
