James C. Olson

James “Jim” Olson, age 62, resident of Elizabeth, Minnesota, passed away on June 19, 2023 after fighting brain cancer.

James Carl Olson was born on August 19, 1960, to Wilbur and Mary Lou (Halbritter) Olson in Waconia, MN. Jim led an adventurous life that ultimately led him to his true love, Connie Huckfeldt. Together they built a family and home in Brainerd, MN. They later settled in Rothsay, MN in 1994. Following the successful remodeling of their home in Rothsay, they sold their home and moved to Fergus falls.  In 2016, they made their last move to Elizabeth, MN.

Jim held various jobs: traveling with Hildebrand Carnival operating “The Cobra”, Assistant Manager at National Bushing and was most know for his dedicated service to the bakery manufacturing company in Fergus Falls for over 20 years.

Jim enjoyed working with his hands. He was able to fix or repair anything from motors to jewelry. He also enjoyed teaching those close to him his tip and tricks. Jim loved his family and his roles as: husband, Dad, and most importantly Papa. If he wasn’t out saving the world, he was dancing with his grand daughter to his old records.

Jim is survived by his wife, Connie; sister, Patty Humphrey; brother, Arnie Olson; step son, Ross Huckfeldt; daughter, Kristine (Brandon) Julsrud; and three grandchildren: Daisy, Lilly and Oliver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jerry Olson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, MN, with Rev. Jerry Peterson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date.
