Jane Bertrand, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother passed away on October 12, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on July 1, 1943, in Alexandria, MN, Jane lived a life filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories.
After graduating from high school in 1961 from Barnesville, Jane embarked on the journey of marriage, tying the knot with her beloved Charles Bertrand on May 18, 1963, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Brandon. Together, they built a beautiful life and created a loving home for their family. Over the years, they resided in West Fargo, Sabin, Woodbury, and finally settled in Evansville during their retirement years.
Jane dedicated several years of her life working as a Computer Operator at Farwell Osmond & Kirk, Northland Insurance, and St. Paul Travelers Insurance. She found fulfillment in her work and formed lasting friendships with her colleagues.
A loving mother and grandmother, Jane poured her heart into crocheting and creating handmade blankets for her family, each one a symbol of her love and affection. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, treasuring the laughter and love shared during family gatherings.
An active member of Christina Lake Lutheran Church, Jane found solace and comfort in her faith. She was a valued member of the church quilting group, helping to create beautiful quilts that brought warmth and joy to those in need.
She enjoyed playing computer games, capturing precious moments through the lens of her camera, and baking delicious cookies for her adoring grandchildren. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore new places, attending country music festivals, and embarking on exhilarating motorcycle trips.
She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Charles Bertrand, parents, James and Margaret Christensen and son-in-law, Anthony Gulden.
Jane is survived by her four children, Robert (Mary) Bertrand of Sauk Centre, MN, Susan Bertrand of Cottage Grove, MN, Randy Bertrand of Woodbury, MN and Debra Bertrand of Woodbury, MN; six grandchildren, Charlie, Katie, Steve, Bill, Jesse and Travis; six great grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, Carter, Vincent, Miles and Brynn; two great- great grandchildren, Bentley and Mason along with numerous family and friends.
Memorial services honoring Jane's life will take place at 1:00 P.M, on October 17, 2023, at Christina Lake Lutheran Church in Evansville, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
