Jeffrey Allan Borstad, 51, of Fergus Falls, died on Monday, July 24, 2017 in Fergus Falls.
Jeff was born on August 25, 1965, in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Allan and Jane (Fitzpatrick) Borstad. He was baptized at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devils Lake and confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls, MN. The family had moved to Fergus Falls when Jeff was 10 where he continued his schooling graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1983.
Jeff worked at Dairyland in Fergus Falls and was very proud of a burger that he created that was added to the menu and named after him. The Borstad Burger remains a favorite on the menu to current days. Jeff also worked at grocery stores in Fergus Falls and Wahpeton, before working at Bellmore’s-North Union Towing in Fergus Falls. He most recently worked at Northern Contours in Fergus Falls and also at the Ottertail County Humane Society where he met and adopted Charlie.
Jeff’s passions included Trans-Am cars, comic books and he was a huge KISS fan.
He is survived by his parents, Jane and Allan Borstad of Fergus Falls; two sisters, Lori (Dana) Anderson and Karla Borstad both of Fergus Falls; 6 nephews, Casey Borstad, Brody Borstad, Colton Anderson, Hunter Anderson, Tyler Umlauf, Levi Borstad; two great nieces, Lexi Umlauf and Laeken Borstad; a great nephew, Augustus Anderson; special friend, Stephanie Cahill and his “kid” Charlie along with numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal & paternal grandparents; cousin, Jimmy Fitzpatrick; uncles, James Fitzpatrick, Bennett Borstad, Frank Senger and Jerry Benshoof and an aunt, Kay Benshoof.
Visitation: Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 5-7 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:30 at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M., Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski & Deacon Chuck Kampa
Graveside Service and Burial: 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at the Devils Lake Cemetery, 14th Ave NE, Devils Lake, ND.
