Jeffrey Lee Shelley, beloved resident of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, was born on October 25, 1976, and passed away on August 24, 2024. He lived a life filled with compassion, laughter, and a passion for cooking. As a dedicated cook at Pizza Ranch in Alexandria for many years, Jeff found joy in transforming his love for food into a rewarding career. His culinary skills and warm nature made him a cherished member of both his workplace and the community.
Jeff was a spirited individual who loved to enjoy life to its fullest. He had a fondness for spending time with friends, often sharing moments over a cold Old Milwaukee while enjoying a smoke. Jeff found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was enjoying leisurely days fishing with his sister, Carmel or exploring thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Their adventures brought joy and laughter, making memories that would last a lifetime. He also shared delightful times with his godparents, Ann and Curt Rotto, at their lake house, where swimming, games, and dining out were regular highlights. Jeff loved traveling and hanging out with his aunts Darlene and Shelia and his cousins Ross and Kevin.
A 1996 graduate of Fergus Falls High School, Jeff possessed a vibrant personality that drew people to him. He had a unique ability to find light in even the most challenging situations, often encouraging those around him to embrace joy and laughter. His signature phrase, "It is what it is," reflected his remarkable perspective on life’s unpredictable journey and resonated with many. He had a way with words, saying, "yeah huh a lot and well you know what I mean."
Jeff’s family remembers him fondly. He is survived by his sister, Carmel Shelley; his niece, Athena Listrom; his nephew, Zach Listrom; and his great-niece, Thea Listrom. He is preceded in death by his parents, an aunt, Sharon, and his cherished cat, Zippy.
The lives of those who knew Jeff have been profoundly touched by his warm spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering positivity. He will be deeply missed yet remembered for all the joy and love he brought into the world.
Visitation will take place on September 3, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, both held at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fergus Falls, located at 301 Washington Avenue East, Fergus Falls, MN 56537.
